Lord God, heavenly Father, You called me by name and declared that I was Your child through the washing of my Baptism. I desire to receive the true body and blood of my Savior, Jesus Christ, in the Sacrament of the Altar. Grant me grace that I may stand before the Church and faithfully speak of the hope that is mine through the life, death, and resurrection of Your Son. Strengthen me through Your Holy Spirit, that I can stand before Your altar and make my vow of fidelity, confident that through faith in You I receive the forgiveness of sins and the ability to do that which pleases You and brings honor and praise to Your name; through Jesus Christ, my Lord. AMEN
